â€Å"Attractive personality is much more powerful than attractive genetics or any ability to fill in an impossible† (Kotyakov). Every woman can relate to the poem â€Å"Phenomenal woman†, written by Maya Angelou . She wants to show the world what makes her beautiful and expresses it in various ways. Women, now put themselves down because they do not think about their inner beauty, they only listen to what people may say about them. The message this poem sends out to the world of stereotype is empowerment comes from being confident in your own female skin. Beauty does not define a phenomenal woman. This poem represents the definition of a phenomenal woman because it helps women understand how it important it is to have self-love, independence and†¦show more content†¦People can’t understand why men adore her, and she tells them her secret which is self- confidence. She explaining that independence means not relying on others to make you love yourself. She reminds women it’s about how you carry yourself, how you look at yourself and how you don’t allow people to define you. It’s your personality that makes you a phenomenal woman. People will not define you by how you look but by how you let them define you. We as women define ourselves which makes us independent. The way Maya Angelou use symbolism, tone, and imagery to express her voice as woman. In lines 22-25 she say â€Å"it’s the fire in my eyes, and the flash of my teeth, the swing in my waist and the joy in my feet†. This quote Shows imagery, because you think of woman holding her her high and being confident of who she is when she walks into a room. She use her voice as women to let other women know to be proud of who you are and to walk with your head held high so others can know you’re comfortable with who are.
